4 years ago, a serious illness turned my life upside down. My partner was by my side through every single moment of what followed. This is our story and the reason our wellness hub exists today.
The Part Nobody Talks About
What began as an infection left me with complications that went far beyond what anyone expected, part of what is now recognised as Long Covid. There were days when even the simplest things felt impossible. The fatigue was total, the kind that sleep does not fix and rest does not touch. My partner was there through all of it, watching, supporting, refusing to give up even when I was close to doing exactly that.
The conditions I was left with were barely understood at the time. My body seemed to be working against me in ways no one could quite explain. Support was limited. Answers were few. I was largely on my own with my symptoms, but never truly alone.
Two Choices. One Decision That Changed Everything
At the worst point I faced a stark reality. Two options: to give up entirely, or to fight for a way through. We fought together. That made the difference.
I spent hours going through research, studies, anything that pointed toward what might actually help. Not wellness blogs. Real evidence. And certain therapies kept appearing as genuine paths forward.
Accessing them was not easy. I had to travel far from home to reach the treatments I needed. Every time, I felt better. Not immediately, not dramatically, but consistently, progressively, undeniably.
That is not a metaphor. That is what happened. These therapies were my last chance and they worked.
From Surviving to Building. Why We Created This Space
I am not fully recovered. I will tell you that myself. But I am close to where I was before, and after everything, that is an extraordinary gift.
I had spent years working in jobs that were never aligned with who I was or what I believed in. So when we realised these therapies were simply not accessible to people here, because no one had brought them together, we both knew what had to be done.
We built this together. Not as a business opportunity. As a purpose. The treatments that brought me back are now available locally. No long journeys. No endless waiting.
These treatments saved my life. Now we want to give back. That is why we are here. That is why we both show up every day.
